Good morningafternoon everyone! I am very proud to announce that Matt & Nicole’s Wedding is now available online via Pictage via http://www.pictage.com/799985 . I want to thank both the Ruhnke and the Simon Families for their hospitality and open arms. I have never gotten so many hugs in one day, even from folks I have never met before. The photographs turned out beautiful and I am so very thankful for being able to capture their day. I wish you two the best and may God bless you two richly. – Dean, Angela, Rylan, & Andy

rAfte a four hour drive and getting up at 4AM, the team I made it to Tomahawk, Wisconsin. The smell of a pig on a spit and the Northwoods… I love it. I’m very excited to see how today pans out. An early congrats to Matt and Nicole!
What a weekend! I want to give a shout-out to Josh (aka Brad) and Christine for inviting us to shoot their wedding. Their wedding was the first that my beautiful wife Angela shot along side me. Being able to look at each other and know what each other is thinking is natural for us, so that was very easy. I cannot wait to get her own digital SLR! It was quite a toasty day, but we had a blast and captured some beautiful memories. I know we were NOT the only guests thinking about jumping in to the pool!
Andy made a long trek to the Twin Cities to shoot a wedding for Becky & Joe. I had the opportunity to go through Andy’s images and I can see that his photo-journalistic ‘eye’ is maturing. This was Andy’s second solo; Andy, correct me if I am wrong, and he has come a long ways. I am very proud of him and look forward to our next wedding together.
I also have suspended our Google advertising and am trying our luck with Facebook Ads. I can tell you, if you haven’t tried it to draw traffic to your site, send me a message and we can talk. In the last 24 hours, we have had 58,000 impressions and 18 clicks. I hope to be able to work with a few other small start-ups to really drive their new businesses some major traffic. If you have seen my ad on Facebook, and dropped here because of it, please leave a comment and let me know!
Exciting news! I need every visitor to click on this link to Vote For Dean’s Photography or click the link for the A-List to the right of this post. I want to be voted the best photographer in Wisconsin. If we win, we will set up a raffle for a Free Wedding for one Lucky Bride. Please share this on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, or even on your Blackberry Messenger!
Once we win, I will make a new post here on my site with a contact form for any and all possible brides to sign up. After a week of brides signing up to win, we will have a live drawing online or maybe at The 1 Stop Shoppe in Pewaukee.
Despite what you may read elsewhere, this is NOT a scam: if we win, one lucky bride will get a full Platinum Wedding Package. This contest is popular vote only, please ONLY vote ONCE, and be sure to share this with everyone you know! Thank you and God bless!
Per a few on-going requests, I have added Rockstar by Nickelback, I Got a Feeling by Black Eyed Peas, and I Hate My Life by Theory of a Deadman. Check out the Tones link to get them for your Blackberry, Palm, or iPhone. The links stopped working for the uber-popular Android devices, and I am trying to figure that out. – Deano
That was a fast 10 days. The family and I spent the past 10 days up in Wild Rose camping in our Jayco Pop-Up. I got to take a lot of photographs of my family, play in the lake with Rylan, and NOT cast a single lure in to any body of water. Everytime I walked Rylan across the field, he would point out the swing set and say, “Swiing.”. We had some pretty wild storms with tornado warnings and straight line wind. We tried to do some senior portraits of my sister in law, and just ran out of time doing nothing. Odd how that works!
We visited our friends at Lauritzen’s Sport Shop, which is located right downtown Wild Rose. Their web site is: http://www.huntwildrose.com/ Their family has been in the area forever and the owner Tom is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to local fishing and hunting. I even picked up a new-to-me Mossberg 12ga shotgun, which I LOVE.
I also just gave up my Blackberry Tour and stepped in to a Motorola Droid X. I am still rocking a Blackberry Bold on my Verizon Wireless business line, so do not freak out if you think you cannot get a hold of me on BBM. I am starting to rock out with Droid Apps. I would love to hear what everyone else is running on their Droids. I very much dislike the Universal Inbox for seven email accounts, so if you know of an App, even a paid App, I am all ears. I am praying I can still take one more week of vacation before the blackout dates kill any possibility of such time off. Ta ta kids!
I have spent a few hours digging through Google’s AdWord’s system and I can tell you, it’s pretty wild. I have been brushing up on SEO stuff thanks to Eric over at An Artist Unleashed. For Ted, it is Unleashed, NOT unleased! I would like a few of you to hop over to Google.com and do a quick search for “wedding photographer”. Check out the ads, you should see mine! Just don’t click!
I have posted some photographs of Ron Hix from Hix Racing. I hope I have a chance to tag along on a few of the other track/race days and have the proper credentials for being track side. I hope EVERYONE can click on the LIKE button to the upper left here so you can help the Hix Racing Team gain some more exposure. I want to give a huge thanks to Ron and Brian from Hix Racing for letting us hang out on Sunday. If you haven’t had a chance to look them up on Facebook, please do so here: NESBA on Facebook
I am about to jump on to my second interview call. If you have a moment please say a prayer that if it is God’s will for me to have this new position, then He’ll do just that. It will be a great opportunity for my career, so I pray it will be done!
Thank everyone! -Deano
*UPDATE*
Well, no new position. You have no idea how much I appreciate the prayers! <3 Dean
